Quick Answer
SEO in India in 2026 costs roughly ₹8,000 to ₹15,000 a month for a single-location local business, ₹15,000 to ₹35,000 for a clinic or professional practice, ₹25,000 to ₹60,000 for a manufacturer or exporter, ₹40,000 to ₹1.2 lakh for an ecommerce store, and ₹60,000 to ₹2 lakh for a SaaS product. One-time technical fixes run ₹15,000 to ₹75,000. The price is driven by the number of pages, the competition on your keywords, and how much content must be written every month.
This guide is for Indian business owners who have asked two or three agencies for an SEO quote and received numbers that range from ₹5,000 to ₹1 lakh a month for what sounds like the same work. By the end you will know what a fair monthly SEO price is for your type of business, what a cheap package quietly leaves out, and how to put three quotes side by side so you compare scope rather than sales pitches.
What SEO actually includes, and why that sets the price
SEO is not one service. It is four or five different jobs bundled under one invoice, and the price of a package depends on which of those jobs are inside it and how many hours each one takes every month.
The first job is technical: crawl errors, page speed, indexing, mobile layout, structured data and redirects. The second is on-page: titles, headings, internal links and the wording of your service pages. The third is content: new pages and articles written to target searches you do not rank for yet. The fourth is local: your Google Business Profile, reviews, citations and city pages. The fifth is authority: earning links and mentions from other sites.
A local shop needs the technical fix once, light on-page work and steady local work. An ecommerce store with 3,000 product pages needs all five jobs every month. That gap in labour is the real reason one business pays ₹10,000 and another pays ₹1 lakh.
SEO cost in India by business type
These bands are what we see quoted by serious providers across India in 2026, with Rajkot and Gujarat sitting toward the lower half of each band and Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi toward the upper half. The bands assume a monthly retainer with reporting; add-ons such as paid tools, video and photography are extra.
| Business type | Typical monthly SEO cost | What the retainer usually covers | Time to steady results |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local shop, salon, restaurant, tuition class | ₹8,000 to ₹15,000 | Google Business Profile, 5 to 10 pages, reviews, citations, one post a month | 3 to 5 months |
| Clinic, hospital, CA, lawyer, architect | ₹15,000 to ₹35,000 | Service and condition pages, local SEO, 2 to 4 articles a month, schema | 4 to 6 months |
| Manufacturer or exporter | ₹25,000 to ₹60,000 | Product and application pages, technical SEO, buyer-intent content, international targeting | 5 to 8 months |
| Ecommerce store (500+ SKUs) | ₹40,000 to ₹1.2 lakh | Category and product page optimisation, crawl budget, feed and schema, content, link earning | 6 to 9 months |
| SaaS or software product | ₹60,000 to ₹2 lakh | Comparison and use-case pages, 6 to 12 articles a month, digital PR, AI search visibility | 6 to 12 months |
Two notes on reading the table. Below the bottom of a band, something in the scope has been cut, usually content or reporting. Above the top of a band, you should expect either a very competitive keyword set (property, finance, education, national ecommerce) or a large team working on the account.
SEO pricing by scope: one-time, monthly or project
Agencies price SEO in three ways, and the right one depends on where your site is today.
One-time technical audit and fix
A one-time engagement of ₹15,000 to ₹75,000 covers a full crawl, a prioritised issue list, and the fixes themselves: speed, redirects, broken links, duplicate titles, mobile problems, schema and sitemap. This is the right starting point when your site is new or has never been touched by an SEO person. It does not produce rankings on its own; it removes the reasons Google is ignoring you.
Monthly retainer
The retainer is the standard model because ranking is cumulative: every month of content and links builds on the last. Retainers run from ₹8,000 to ₹2 lakh as shown above. Ask for a six-month minimum commitment from the agency's side on deliverables, and a 30-day exit from your side.
Project pricing
Some work is better priced as a project: a site migration (₹40,000 to ₹2 lakh depending on page count), a set of 10 to 20 city or service pages (₹25,000 to ₹80,000), or a content cluster of 20 articles (₹40,000 to ₹1 lakh). Project pricing suits businesses that have an in-house person to maintain the site afterward.
What drives SEO price up or down
When two quotes for the same business differ by three times, one of these six factors usually explains it.
- Keyword competition. Ranking a bearing manufacturer for "deep groove ball bearing supplier Rajkot" is a different job from ranking a real estate project for "flats in Ahmedabad". The second needs ten times the content and links.
- Number of pages. Cost scales with pages that need work, not with company size. A 12-page clinic site is cheaper than a 400-page distributor catalogue even if the clinic earns more.
- Content volume. A well-researched 1,500-word article written by someone who understands your industry costs ₹2,500 to ₹8,000 in India. Four of those a month is already ₹10,000 to ₹32,000 of the retainer.
- Starting condition. A site on a slow shared host with a template that was never optimised needs two or three months of repair before growth work starts.
- Geography of the target. Ranking in one city is cheaper than ranking across India, and ranking in the US or UK for an exporter is more expensive again because the competing sites are stronger.
- Who does the work. A retainer where a senior person reviews your account monthly costs more than one run entirely by a junior executive on a checklist. The second is not always wrong, but it should be priced lower.
What cheap SEO leaves out
Packages advertised at ₹3,000 to ₹6,000 a month exist, and some business owners get modest results from them. The problem is not the price; it is what is missing. In our experience these packages typically omit the following.
- Technical fixes. The package submits your site to directories and writes meta tags but never touches speed, redirects or indexing, because those need a developer.
- Original content. Articles are either skipped entirely or produced in bulk by a generic AI prompt with no industry knowledge, which Google's spam systems now detect reliably.
- Google Business Profile management. Reviews, photos, posts and category corrections are the single highest-return local activity and are rarely included below ₹8,000.
- Reporting you can act on. You get a ranking screenshot, not a report of which pages gained impressions, which queries converted and what is planned next month.
- Link quality. Links come from a bank of low-quality sites the agency controls. These either do nothing or earn a manual action.
- Access. Some low-cost providers keep your Search Console, analytics and even your domain registration in their accounts, which makes leaving painful.
SEO price in Rajkot: what we have seen on real projects
JK Tech Hub has done SEO for its own site and for clients in Rajkot, Morbi, Jamnagar, Ahmedabad and Surat since 2018, and the local market has some patterns worth knowing before you ask for quotes.
A two-outlet pharmacy in Rajkot came to us after paying ₹4,000 a month for a year with no visible change. The site had never been in Search Console, the Google Business Profile had the wrong primary category, and the one blog post a month was 300 words of generic text. A one-time technical and profile clean-up at under ₹20,000 produced more calls in eight weeks than the previous twelve months, and the monthly retainer after that was ₹12,000.
A casting unit in Metoda GIDC wanted enquiries from overseas buyers. That is a different budget: 25 to 30 product and application pages in English, technical specifications presented as structured data, and content answering the questions purchasing engineers actually search. The retainer sat at ₹45,000 a month and the first qualified export enquiries arrived in month five.
For Rajkot specifically, the honest local range is ₹8,000 to ₹25,000 a month for most SMEs, and ₹30,000 to ₹60,000 for exporters and multi-city businesses. Quotes above ₹60,000 inside Rajkot should come with a named senior person and a written monthly deliverable list. You can see our fixed-price options on the SEO packages in Rajkot page.
How to compare SEO quotes
Put every quote into the same five-row grid before you look at the price. The grid makes scope differences visible, which is where the real cost difference lives.
- Deliverables per month. Number of new pages or articles, number of pages optimised, number of links or citations, number of Business Profile posts. If a quote cannot be turned into a count, ask again.
- Technical work included. Is the initial audit and fix inside the retainer, a separate project, or not offered at all?
- Who does the work. Ask for the names and roles of the people who will touch your account, and how many hours per month.
- Reporting. Ask for a sample monthly report from an existing client with the name blacked out. Look for Search Console data and leads, not just rankings.
- Terms. Minimum commitment, notice period, and confirmation in writing that all accounts and content remain yours.
After filling the grid, price per deliverable becomes obvious. A ₹20,000 quote with four articles, ten optimised pages and profile management is cheaper per unit of work than a ₹12,000 quote with one article and a ranking report.
How to decide
If you serve one city and most customers find you on maps, start with a one-time technical and profile fix, then a retainer in the ₹8,000 to ₹15,000 band. If you sell to other businesses across India or abroad, budget ₹25,000 to ₹60,000 and expect to wait five to eight months. If you run ecommerce or SaaS, SEO is a primary acquisition channel and the budget should be compared against what you would otherwise spend on ads over the same 12 months; our post on SEO vs Google Ads for small business works through that model.
Whatever the band, do not sign for 12 months on day one. Pay for the audit, then run a three-month trial with a written deliverable list, and continue only if impressions and leads in Search Console are moving. Our guide on how to choose an SEO company in Rajkot covers that trial in detail.
