How the Rajkot map pack is decided: relevance, distance and prominence
When someone on Kalawad Road searches for a physiotherapist, a tile showroom or a CA near me, Google shows three businesses on a map before any website. That block is the map pack, and for most Rajkot businesses with a physical address it produces more calls than the whole organic list below it. Google says three things decide who is in it, and each one can be worked on.
| Factor | What Google is checking | What we change |
|---|---|---|
| Relevance | Does your profile and website say you do the thing being searched, in the words the searcher used? | Primary and secondary categories, the services list, the business description, one page per service on the website |
| Distance | How far is your pin from the searcher, or from the area named in the search? | Correct pin placement, service area settings, location pages for each part of Rajkot you serve, a profile per branch |
| Prominence | How well known is the business: reviews, review velocity, mentions, links, website authority | A review routine, consistent listings, local links, press and association mentions, weekly activity on the profile |
Distance is the one most Rajkot owners misunderstand. A showroom on 150 Feet Ring Road will not appear for a searcher in Bhaktinagar no matter how good the profile is, because Google serves what is near the phone. If you want customers from across the city, you need location pages on the website that rank organically for those areas, which is the second half of local SEO and the part most providers skip.
